On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the operations room between 31¼ and 35½ stations on 1 deck looking aft and to port from the port side at 32 station showing the gun direction officer's section. The main control console is in the foreground. The T.I.U. Mark 5 marker generator cabinet assembly, a power unit and a broadcast unit are against the port side. Three fuse panels and two junction boxes, one of which has its cover removed, are against the aft bulkhead and an electric fire is mounted at low level.
