On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the enclosed bridge between 27½ and 31¼ stations on 01 deck looking forward and slightly to port from 30 station on the centreline showing the port side of the bridge extension. Two interphone switchboards, three telephones, two bearing repeaters, two loudspeakers, an azimuth repeater and a revolution counter are against the port side. The pelorus and the captain's chair are in the centre. A tape type compass repeater and three intercom speakers are under the deckhead. A vertical format negative.
