On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the enclosed bridge between 27½ and 31¼ stations on 01 deck looking forward and to starboard from 30 station on the centreline showing the starboard side of the bridge extension. The pelorus and the captain's chair are in the centre. A revolution counter, a pitometer log speed indicator, a rudder indicator, an interphone switchboard, three telephones, a speaking tube, an electric fire and a control unit are against the starboard side. A tape type compass repeater and four intercom speakers are under the deckhead. A vertical format negative.
