On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the enclosed bridge between 27½ and 31¼ stations on 01 deck looking aft and slightly to port from 30 station on the centreline showing the port aft bulkhead of the bridge. The chart table with drawers and cupboards under and a shelf above is on the left with a radar visual display unit next to it. An electric fire, a check fire push box, a telephone control box, a bearing indicator and an intercom switchboard are against the aft bulkhead.
