On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the emergency conning position between 46 and 47¾ stations on 02 deck looking to starboard and slightly forward showing the azimuth repeater in the starboard forward corner. The canvas covered 27 feet motor whaler is in its davits on the left. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay and on the wall of the building in the background is a Save As You Earn (S.A.Y.E.) poster. A vertical format negative.
