On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the electronic warfare office between 35½ and 38¼ stations on the centreline of 1 deck looking forward and to port from 38 station showing the position of the rating in charge on the right, the MF/HF intercept bay in the centre and the HF/DF bay on the left. The MF/DF intercept bay is equipped with a morse key, an Olivetti 82 typewriter, a B40 CAY receiver and a B41 CAZ receiver. The HF/DF bay has a morse key, two electronic units on the desk and two drawers below it. A bookshelf and a relay and loudspeaker muting box are against the port bulkhead.
