On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the communications control transmitting section room (CCR(TX)) between 28 and 31 stations on the port side of 2 deck looking aft and to starboard from 30 station showing a workbench with a ventilation exhaust fan under it. A fire detection alarm unit, a fuse panel, a Thermotank air conditioning unit and a radio remote control unit are above the bench. Folding chairs are in the foreground and a filter unit is against the starboard bulkhead.
