On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is looking aft, to starboard and up from 49 station on the port side of 1 deck showing the Seacat AS 12 missile hoist monorail mounted between the forward bulkhead of the hangar and the GWS 20 launcher platform at 01 deck level. A net is slung behind the hoist covering the top of the open forward access door to the hangar. Behind the monorail is the door to the foam proportionater compartment.
