On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is looking forward and to port from 40 station on the port side of 1 deck showing the killick (Danforth) anchor stowed against the bulkhead at 39 station and the RAC (Royal Armoured Corps) helmet locker is next to it. The bow of the 25 feet motor cutter can be seen in the top left of the picture. The ship is berthed starboard side to the wall.
