On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is at 36 station on the starboard side of 01 deck looking aft and slightly to starboard showing the air treatment unit with one of the doors open and hinged back. A single 20 mm oerlikon gun is on the left and in the foreground are a smoke generator locker and a locker labelled "Lights indicating lifebuoy". The ship is berthed starboard side to the wall. A vertical format negative.
