On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is on the starboard side of the weatherdeck between 34 and 40 stations on 01 deck looking forward from 38 station showing the base of the MRS 3 director support and a two inch rocket flare locker on the left and the air treatment unit on the right. A washdeck locker is next to the four steps that lead up to the air lookouts' position and the lookout sights are covered. The ship is berthed starboard side to the wall.
