On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the sonar instrument compartment between 12½ and 16 stations on 3 deck looking to port from 15½ station showing an asdic type 177 junction box, three wooden cupboards for test equipment, an automatic emergency lantern, a radiator fuse box, a fire extinguisher and two hand-wheel valves labelled G and H.
