On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the main passageway (known as the Burma Road) between 30⅔ and 41 stations on 2 deck looking to starboard from 38½ station showing the open hatch leading down to 3 deck in the foreground with a wooden cupboard unit beyond it. On the left are rows of coat hooks for the wardroom and the wardroom door is in the background. Alongside the wardroom door is a large locker containing the emergency operating table. A vertical format negative.
