On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the main passageway (known as the Burma Road) between 30⅔ and 41 stations on 2 deck looking forward and slightly to starboard from 38 station showing a large distribution fuse panel on the left. On the right are a steel ramp stowage area, fuse panels, two covered cable stowage brackets and three filter boxes. Seamen are moving a gas cylinder down to 3 deck through the open hatch. The watertight door at 30⅔ station is open. A vertical format negative.
