On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the main passageway (known as the Burma Road) between 41 and 49 stations on 2 deck looking forward from 43 station showing a fire main, two five gallon drums of pyrene chemical foam, a fire extinguisher, an international compressed air breathing apparatus cabinet, an air hose and a covered cable stowage bracket against the starboard bulkhead. On the left are the door to the officers' galley, a loudspeaker and an emergency connection and changeover switch box. The watertight door at 41 station is closed. A vertical format negative.
