On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the main passageway (known as the Burma Road) between 41 and 49 stations on 2 deck looking forward from 47½ station showing the servery, lowerator plate dispensers, 25 gallon steam kettle, fire hose basket and fire main on the starboard side. On the left are an emergency changeover switch and connection box, a fan starter panel, small electrical boxes and the lobby fronting the scullery. The watertight door at 41 station is open.
