On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the main passageway (known as the Burma Road) between 49 and 63 stations on 2 deck looking to port from 50 station showing an automatic emergency lantern on the left and stairs leading up to 1 deck on the right. A cable stowage, a fire hose nozzle, an intercom unit and the fire main pipes and valves for the GWS magazine are in the space. A vertical format negative.
