On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the main passageway (known as the Burma Road) between 49 and 63 stations on 2 deck looking aft and slightly to port from 50 station showing an automatic emergency lantern, the GWS magazine door, a loudspeaker, an emergency changeover switch and connection box, a cable stowage bracket and a number of fuse panels, junction boxes and starter panels are on the port side. The sliding doors to the senior rates' dining hall and servery and an international compressed air breathing apparatus cabinet are on the starboard side. A vertical format negative.
