On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the main passageway (known as the Burma Road) between 49 and 63 stations on 2 deck looking aft and slightly to starboard from 51 station showing the sliding doors to the senior rates' dining hall and servery, an international compressed air breathing apparatus cabinet and the sliding doors to the junior rates' dining hall on the starboard side. A group of men are in the aft end of the passageway.
