On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is on the quarterdeck between 67 and 80½ stations on 2 deck looking aft and to port from 76 station on the starboard side showing two cable reels with two pairs of bollards covered with wooden seats and with a third seat between them. On the right is the type 182 torpedo decoy system davit and two decoys. Awning stanchions are rigged. In the background against the west wall of the basin is the Netherland Navy frigate Isaac Sweers (1967), pendant F814, on a visit with the Standing Naval Force Atlantic (STANAVFORLANT).
