On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is on the quarterdeck between 67 and 80½ stations on 2 deck looking forward from the starboard side at 73 station showing the Limbo mortar well and the laundry. The Limbo mounting has the barrells trained aft and to port and the tops of the barrells are out of the picture. The watertight door to the laundry is open. Two lockers are on the deck in the left foreground. The flight deck and hangar are in the background. The ship is berthed starboard side to the basin wall.
