On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is on the starboard side of the flight deck at 58 station on 1 deck looking forward along the side walkway between 44 and 57 stations. The bulkhead of the torpedo stowage compartment is on the left and a replenishment at sea (RAS) derrick pivot bracket is fixed to the lower corner. The derrick is stowed at deck level. The 27 feet motor whaler in its davits can be seen at the end of the walkway. The Berwick (1959) is berthed starboard side to No. 3 basin wall.
