On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is on the starboard side of 1 deck at 44 station looking aft and to starboard along the side walkway between 44 and 57 stations. The aft davit of the 27 feet motor whaler is on the extreme left. A cable reel is under the emergency conning position deck. The oxy-acetylene gas cylinder stowage is abaft the open door of the GWS power room. The Berwick (1959) is berthed starboard side to No. 3 basin wall. A vertical format negative.
