A roll film negative. On board the submarine Sealion (1959) towards the end of a long refit at Portsmouth. The photographer is in the control room between 59 and 69 stations on the main flat looking to port, slightly aft and down from the port side at 64 station showing a large number of gauges and handwheels against the boat's side. A main intercom loudspeaker is in the centre of the picture with the vertical high pressure direct blow main panels and the gauges for Q and D1 tanks to the right of it. On the right is a Hydel valve control box. In the foreground on the deck is a six drawer unit secured by a strongback and fitted with a cushion seat.
