A roll film negative. On board the submarine Sealion (1959) towards the end of a long refit at Portsmouth. The photographer is in the generator room between 77 and 92 stations looking aft and to starboard from the main flat at 91 station. Against the aft bulkhead at 92 station on the right is a Paragon No. 5 semi rotary pump and to the left of it are two gauges, each measuring excess sea pressure and excess tank pressure. A klaxon horn is above two pressure gauges and the lubricating oil heater starter panel. Against the starboard side of the boat is a fuse and control box for the lubricating oil heater. Below the main flat and projecting above it is the lubricating oil separator and heater. A vertical format negative.
