A roll film negative. On board the submarine Sealion (1959) towards the end of a long refit at Portsmouth. The photographer is in the generator room between 77 and 92 stations looking to starboard from the main flat at 91 station. Against the aft bulkhead at 92 station on the right is a box marked 'No. 1 circulating water pump motor' and 'No. 2 circulating water pump motor', a Paragon No. 5 semi rotary pump, a klaxon horn and the lubricating oil heater starter panel. Against the starboard side of the boat are a fuse and control box for the lubricating oil heater, two distribution boxes and a stowage rack for a fire hose . Below the main flat and projecting above it is the lubricating oil separator and heater and in the foreground is a work bench with a vice fitted to it and a fire extinguisher and an air bottle next to it. On the left is the aft end of the starboard main generator. A vertical format negative.
