The Pearl cutter yacht, under two reef'd Main Sail off the Needles Isle of Wight Property of the Most Noble the Marquis of Anglesea

Stored in paper with PAD6501. Lithograph. Black and white stern and port view of the Marquis of Anglesey's racing cutter, Pearl (1819), heeling on a port tack beating around the Needles off the Isle of Wight in rough seas. Another racing yact is seen behind Pearl tacking in the opposite direction and yet more craft on the horizon. Crew are ranged along the port bulwark to counterbalance the hull. Two men are adjusting an extra yard-arm (boom) which extends at right angles from the yacht. Two lines of reefing points can be seen on the gaff-rig mainsail. The Pearl is flying an ensign and the burgee of the Royal Yacht Squadron.
