The Paragon Steam Boat Copied from an Original Drawing by Robert Fulton, in the possession of J. Allen

This aquatinted lithograph depicts the American paddle steam boat Paragon in starboard broadside view under sail and steam. The image was originally published in Valentine's Manual of the Corporation of the City of New York in 1852.

Paragon, launched in 1811, was designer Robert Fulton's third steam boat for the navigation of the Hudson River. She provided a service between New York and Albany until 1820 when she struck a rock and was wrecked.
