Marian. A Trip up Loch Lomond

Port broadside view of the paddle steamer ‘Marian’ filled with passengers with umbrellas and telescopes; name inscribed on side of paddlebox; ensign flown at stern; in the background is probably a view of the eastern shore of Loch Lomond, featuring a slope upwards on the left towards Ben Lomond. Coloured aquatint.

For her first year, she ran as a passenger steamer between Glasgow and Greenock. She then went to Loch Lomond and inspired great interest as she was the first steamer seen there.
