Plan drawings of the paddles steamer 'Forbes'
Ruled line bow and stern (above) and broadside (below) elevations, made starboard-on, headed “Body Plan” with annotations and a scale.
The ‘Forbes’ was named after Captain Forbes who helped to introduce steam ships into India. Her engines were built in Britain by Boulton and Watt.
Above inscribed: “Forbes. Steamer built (opposite Calcutta) by the new Howrah Dock Compy. (Owners Messrs McIntosh & Co” and in the lower right “(Correct) J M Seppings Surveyor of Shipping to H.E.C. in Marine Dept Calcutta 1830”
