Portable reflector telescope

This is a portable reflector telescope by Joseph Hurt.

Telescope: The telescope has adjustable inclination and rotary movement. The screw-on eye-piece has a brass cap and there is an object end cap. There are attachments for sighting on each end of the top of the brass barrel. Within the barrel are primary and secondary specula (mirrors). There is a screw thread for focusing the secondary mirror through use of the rod attached to the barrel. The length of the instrument with the eyepiece and object cap is 560 mm.

The telescope is mounted on a brass pillar with three collapsable claw legs. The telescope comes apart for storage purposes. The lid of the box is damaged. The box contains one spare secondary mirror, but two eyepieces are missing.

The box is part numbered AST0937.1 and can be accessed via the WHOLE/PART toggle.
