The starboard lifeboat number 17 swung out on board the Canadian Pacific Steamships cruise ship Duchess of Atholl (1928) at an unknown location. The photographer is at the foot of the accommodation ladder looking up at the underside of the boat in its falls hanging in radial davits just ahead of the after docking bridge. Members of the crew are holding the boat away from the ship's side. A vertical format negative.
