A distant view of the passenger cargo/liner Jebba (1896) aground off Bolt Tail, near Hope Cove
A distant view, fine off the starboard quarter, of the passenger cargo/liner Jebba (1896) aground broadside-to the cliffs of Bolt Tail, near Hope Cove, Devon. The ship has a list to starboard. A sailing ketch is along the starboard side of the Jebba, sails furled. The left side of the photograph is dominated by the cliffs leading to the wreck, and include people on the cliff top looking at the ship.
The Jebba was on its way from Nigeria and the Gold Coast when it ran aground in thick fog on 18 March 1907.
