A starboard near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the Canadian Pacific Steamships cruise ship Duchess of Atholl (1928) moored stern-on to a wharf in an unknown large commercial harbour. The ship is dressed overall her starboard anchor is deployed and an accommodation ladder is rigged at the aft shell door. Three lighters are secured alongside the ship, two at the bow and one under the bridge. A large track mounted hammerhead crane is on the dockside in the right background, possibly employed in sea wall construction. Four cantilever or jib cranes are on the wharf on the left.
