A cart parked outside the steps to St. Keverne Chuch containing the body of a person killed in the sinking of the passenger/cargo ship Mohegan (1898)
A photograph taken from the steps of St Keverne Church, looking towards the right-hand side of the cart owned by Richard Rogers. A large group of men are behind and at the side. The cart contains the body recovered from the wreck of the Mohegan (1898). Behind is the wall of 'Rule & Son' shop and to the right is the front of the Three Tuns Public House.

The Mohegan left London on 13 October 1898 with 97 crew, 17 cattlemen and 53 passengers, as well as 1,280 tons of general cargo. The ship was seen passing Eddystone Lighthouse at about 5pm on 14 October, about 10-12 miles out. The ship then ran onto the Manacle rocks at about 7pm. Some 102 people lost their lives.
