The Type 81 frigate Gurkha (1960) in dry dock at Southampton. She was docked between 13 and 26 October 1962 for final hull cleaning and painting before her steaming trials. The photographer is at the bottom of the dock near the keel blocks looking aft and slightly to starboard at the main circulating inlet between 59 and 60 stations on the starboard side of the hull.
