The Type 81 frigate Gurkha (1960) in dry dock at Southampton. She was docked between 13 and 26 October 1962 for final hull cleaning and painting before her steaming trials. The photographer is on the side wall of the dock on the port side abreast 50 station looking to starboard and aft showing the stabiliser between 55 and 56 stations in the housed position. It is just ahead of the bilge keel.
