The photographer is in the CPOs' mess between 68 and 73 stations on 2 deck looking forward and to port from 71 station on the starboard side showing four triple tier bunk settee units and three folding tables. The door is in the forward bulkhead and an automatic emergency lantern is next to the door. Cupboards, bookshelves, an electric fire, loudspeakers and a clock reading 4.38 are against the forward bulkhead and an upholstered curved seat is in front of the fire. There are no easy chairs in the photograph.
