On board the Type 81 frigate Gurkha (1960) alongside the fitting out berth of John I Thornycroft & Co Ltd at Woolston, Southampton. The photographer is in No. 4 amplifier compartment between 44¼ and 45 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking to starboard. Three power units, a cabinet labelled "Code No. T.C.1125", a marker interlacing cabinet and a co-ordinate converter cabinet are against the forward bulkhead. Against the ship's side is a shelf-cum-bench with two frame servicing boxes under it. A visual display unit with a power unit under it in a rectangular steel framework are against the aft bulkhead.
