The photographer is looking aft and slightly to starboard from the port side of the roof of the enclosed bridge at 43 station on 02 deck showing the gun direction officer's binocular sight Mk. I, serial No. 110, with an azimuth repeater on the front screen. The four action look-out positions are on either side of the platform round the MRS.3 director with its Type 904 radar dish. The cheese aerial for the type 293Q radar is on the lattice structure abaft the director and in the background are the base of the foremast and the funnels. Berthed inboard of the Eskimo (1961) is the Trinity House lighthouse and buoy tender Winston Churchill (1963) which is fitting out. On the left are the boatyards of Groves & Guttridge Ltd and R & W Clark Ltd.
