On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) alongside the fitting out berth of J Samuel White & Co Ltd at West Cowes, Isle of Wight. The photographer is standing in the athwartship passageway between 67 and 69 stations on 2 deck looking to starboard from just to port of the centreline. On the left are the hatch down to the seamen's mess on 3 deck, the operating table stowage cupboard, a water cooler, fuse panels and the open watertight door to the starboard passageway. On the right are the door to the C.P.O's mess, a washing-up sink and cabinet, an air filtration unit, a litter bin, a telephone and a starter. Against the starboard bulkhead are two cable hanger brackets and an emergency connection box.
