On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) alongside the fitting out berth of J Samuel White & Co Ltd at West Cowes, Isle of Wight. The photographer is standing in the main passageway between 45 and 50 stations on the port side of 2 deck looking forward from 51 station. On the left are a table and benches of the junior rate's dining hall, a plaque listing all of the Tribal class destroyers of 1939-1945, a portable lamp stowage box, a noticeboard, the door to the officers' galley, the arched opening to the officers' cooks and stewards mess, a fire extinguisher and a cable stowage. On the right are cupboards, an automatic emergency lantern, the door to the oil fuel tank filling space, the servery roller shutter and the door to the galley.
