The photographer is in the conversion machinery room between 45 and 48 stations on the starboard side of 4 deck looking aft and to port showing an amplidyne and a 1KVA motor generator fixed to the deck on the left with a full height cupboard beyond them. Two motor generators by Small Electric Motors Ltd of Beckenham, Kent, are in the centre of the room. Against the port bulkhead are a motor generator, a choke unit, a starter, three voltage regulators and two Small Electric Motors Ltd excitation units. Against the aft bulkhead are an automatic emergency lantern, a starter, two transformers and fuse panels.
