On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) alongside the fitting out berth of J Samuel White & Co Ltd at West Cowes, Isle of Wight. The photographer is in the main naval store between 79 and 82 stations on 3 deck looking aft and to port from 79½ station showing a pedestal desk against 81 station bulkhead with the door to the lobby and an automatic emergency lantern next to it. A nest of storage drawers is on the right with open racking against the ship's side on the extreme right. There is an anomaly in this photograph. On the storekeeper's desk is a packing note dated 5.2.63 from the S.N.S.O. H.M. Dockyard, Portsmouth addressed to HMS Victorious which was undergoing a refit in Portsmouth dockyard from March 1962 to August 1963.
