On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) alongside the fitting out berth of J Samuel White & Co Ltd at West Cowes, Isle of Wight. The photographer is in the engineer's and ordnance workshop between 61¼ and 64 stations on the starboard of 2 deck looking forward and to starboard showing the universal machine in the centre of the workshop. A steel workbench with cupboards and drawers under is against the ship's side and it is fitted with a Record 112 heavy duty vice and a Record 23 vice. Shelves and bins are above the bench. Cupboards and dirty clothes lockers are against the forward bulkhead.
