On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) alongside the fitting out berth of J Samuel White & Co Ltd at West Cowes, Isle of Wight. The photographer is possibly in the supply officer's cabin between 53 and 54½ stations on the starboard side of 1 deck looking to starboard showing the bed-settee with drawers under and cupboards at high level above an open scuttle. A table top, chair, noticeboard and bookshelf are against the forward bulkhead. Drawer units and a combination safe are against the aft bulkhead. A typed caption on the back of a photographic print from this negative in album ALB1579 states that this is a "Typical Class III Cabin - No. 7 Cabin 1 Dk" but this is incorrect because Class III cabins are fitted with a bed berth that has a secretaire under it and not a bed-settee. A vertical format negative.
