The photographer is in the seamen's mess between 78 and 85 stations on 2 deck looking toforward and to port from the starboard side at 84 station. Four three tier bunk settee units are against the ship's starboard side. Four folding tables and eight tubular steel chairs are on the starboard side of the mess with another four three tier bunk settee units close to the forward bulkhead. Stairs up to 1 deck and a hatch leading down to 3 deck are on the left with kit lockers and a bookshelf on the extreme left. Kit lockers and a greatcoat locker are near the door to the mess in 78 station bulkhead.
