On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) alongside the fitting out berth of J Samuel White & Co Ltd at West Cowes, Isle of Wight. The photographer is in the junior ratings' dining hall between 50 and 56 stations on 2 deck looking to port and forward from the starboard side at 55 station. Tables and bench seats occupy the majority of the deck space on either side of the main fore and aft passageway which can be curtained off. The ship's library bookcases are against the ship's port side. Against the forward bulkhead on the starboard side is a steel dresser unit and tea making machine with plates racks and fuse panels above. A condiment cupboard, camera spares drawer and spools cabinet are included in the dresser unit.
