The Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) in dry dock in Chatham Dockyard during her 1971-1974 modernisation. She was in dry dock from 4 October to 25 October 1973. The photographer is on the bottom of the dock looking up showing a close view of the inlet of the marine pak (sic) at 41¼ station in the port side of the hull. The word "pak" has been written on the back of a photographic print and on the original negative enclosure. No. 13 Ford has been chalked on the hull and a broad white fore and aft divers search line has been painted on the hull. A man's hand is touching the grating.
