The Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) in dry dock in Chatham Dockyard during her 1971-1974 modernisation. She was in dry dock from 4 October to 25 October 1973. The photographer is looking aft and to port from the bottom of the dock ahead of the bow showing the starboard side of the ship. Three parallel divers search lines have been painted on the hull and the draught marks below the waterline have been painted white. The ship's pendant number is F119. A group of men are standing under the hull between 33 and 36 stations in way of the hull outfit 20 (type 177 asdic) dome.
